The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Thursday approved a decrease of Rs1.89 in the uniform tariff for the next three months.
According to NEPRA’s decision, the reduction will apply to all consumers of power distribution companies (DISCOs), including K-Electric.
The revised rates will be effective for August, September, and October 2025.
This move is expected to provide a total relief of Rs55.87 billion to electricity users during the three-month period.
This move is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to provide economic relief to the public, with hopes that it will ease the daily financial burden on consumers.
The reduction in electricity prices is expected to have a positive impact on household budgets, especially amid rising living costs.
