The Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (IDRW) has released details of the BrahMos 2 project.
India and Russia are actively developing the BrahMos 2 hypersonic missile together. The approval of BrahMos 2 and a decision on technology sharing are expected during Russian President Putin’s visit to India.
According to the report, BrahMos 2 will be based on Russia’s “Zircon” missile, it will have a speed of Mach 8 and a range of 1,500 kilometers. The BrahMos 2 hypersonic missile will be capable of hitting targets on both land and sea.
The Indian Defense Research Organization stated that the development of BrahMos 2 in India is being done under the Defense Research and Development Organization. This technology will be a combination of an Indian-made skimmed jet engine and a Russian design, which is part of India’s “Make in India” project.
The report further states that BrahMos 2 will be exclusive to India and Russia and its export will not be allowed.
This strategy clearly marks out Modi government’s strategy to hide its failure in a pile of weapons and subsequently ignore education, health and employment.
The focus of India’s policies is no longer on public welfare but on the dangerous obsession with arms race and military dominance in the region. By trampling on peace, the Modi government is taking South Asia to the brink of nuclear conflict.
