The district administration of Bajaur has imposed curfew in various areas of Loi Mamund district and decided to take strict security measures from July 29 to July 31.
According to the statement issued, this measure has been taken in connection with an ongoing targeted operation against militants.
According to the administration, the curfew will be in effect from 5am to 5pm daily, so that security agencies can carry out effective operations and avoid any untoward incident.
Citizens have been strictly instructed not to step out of their homes during this period.
The curfew has been imposed in Badsiyah, Tarkho, Irab, Gat, Agra, Khodchay and Davaogai. Apart from this, other affected areas include Kalan, Laghray, Katkot, Gilay, Nakhtar, Zary, Dambarey, Amanta and Zagay.
The district administration has appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities, saying that these measures are essential to maintain law and order in the area and reduce the threat of terrorism.
Legal action will be taken against those violating the curfew instructions.
