Astronomer confirms resignation of CPO Kristin

A data and AI startup, Astronomer, has confirmed the resignation of its Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot, after the circulation of a viral video that thrust the company into the media spotlight.

Kristin Cabot’s departure comes shortly after former CEO Andy Byron also resigned. Byron was placed on administrative leave, due to ongoing internal investigation, although the company has not officially linked his exit to the video.

In the beginning, Astronomer released a statement acknowledging an internal investigation and confirming Byron’s leave, though it stopped short of commenting directly on the footage. Days later, the company announced Byron’s resignation.

Astronomer has since appointed co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy as interim CEO.

According to unexpected scandal, DeJoy said that the events of past few days have received a massive media attention that would have been rarely experienced by the companies, especially the startups had been received by Astronomers in recent days.

The Astronomer’s leadership shakens amid scrutiny and viral buzz. The company seeks both renewed public attention and a transition period.

Earlier, in the Coldplay concert, camera man captured Cabot and Byron sharing an embrace on the venue’s giant screen before quickly ducking out of view.

The footage sparked widespread speculation online, amassing millions of views and generating a flood of memes.

Coldplay front man Chris Martin added to the moment, joking to the crowd, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy,” prompting laughter from fans.
