No plan to protest in Islamabad on August 5: Barrister Gohar

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar has said that peaceful protests will be held across the country on August 5.

Talking to the media in Peshawar on Thursday, Barrister Gohar said that there was no plan to stage a protest in Islamabad on August 5.

Responding to a question, he said that all PTI candidates in the Senate elections were nominated by party founder Imran Khan.

Barrister Gohar said that the actions against PTI leaders were an attempt to suppress them.

“There is a sword hanging over our 39 parliamentarians. Two of our MNAs and a senator have been convicted,’ he added.

Barrister Gohar said that the cases of October 4 were still pending. Our only demand was that action should be taken against those involved, that they should be punished after a clear and transparent investigation, he stated.

The PTI chairman said he is confident that the party will withstand the pressure.

Referring to recent Senate elections, Barrister Gohar said that Murad Saeed has succeeded in the election, and now it is up to him to decide his next step.

He said he was not present during the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but no suspicious activity was reported.

Referring to Murad Saeed, he said the authorities cannot keep such a popular leader and his family in jail for so long.
