Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in a meeting with Bangladeshi counterpart Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury in Dhaka reached an agreement to allow visa-free entry for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
Following this agreement, holders of Pakistani diplomatic and official passports will be permitted visa-free entry into Bangladesh.
Upon his arrival at the Bangladeshi Ministry of Home Affairs, Minister Naqvi was warmly received and presented with a guard of honour.
“I wholeheartedly welcome my brother upon his arrival in Dhaka. Your visit is of great importance for the promotion of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations,” said the Bangladeshi minister.
In their discussions, both interior ministers agreed to enhance cooperation in internal security and police training.
Two sides also decided to form a joint committee to promote cooperation, as part of efforts to institutionalise bilateral engagement. Pakistan’s Federal Secretary for Interior, Khurram Agha, will head the committee from the Pakistani side.
Additionally, a high-level delegation from Bangladesh is expected to visit Islamabad soon to observe Pakistan’s Safe City Project and tour the National Police Academy.
