Pakistan vs India WCL 2025 clash called off

The highly anticipated World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 fixture between cricketing rivals India and Pakistan has been officially cancelled. The match, scheduled for Sunday at Edgbaston, was called off following an official announcement by the tournament organisers via social media.

“We at WCL have always cherished and loved cricket, and our only aim has been to give fans some good, happy moments,” the statement read.

Organisers explained that the decision to schedule the match was inspired by recent sporting exchanges between the two nations, including hockey, volleyball, and other inter-nation fixtures.

“However, we have decided to call off the India vs Pakistan match,” the statement concluded, adding an apology to fans for any hurt sentiments and emphasizing that the intention was to spread joy through the sport.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Champions, led by Mohammad Hafeez, made a strong start to their WCL 2025 campaign, defeating England Champions by five runs in the tournament opener.

Defending a target of 161, Pakistan restricted England to 155-3 in their 20 overs, with Sohail Khan delivering a tight final over, conceding just 10 runs when 16 were needed.
