Major martyred, three Indian-sponsored terrorists killed in Awaran operation: ISPR

Pakistan Army conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Awaran District of Balochistan, killing at least three Indian-sponsored terrorists, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.

One Pakistan Army officer was martyred during the operation.

According to the ISPR, the operation was launched on the reported presence of terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Hindustan.

“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorist location and, resultantly, three Indian sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the military’s media wing stated.

The fierce exchange of fire, however, resulted in the martyrdom of Major Syed Rabnawaz Tariq, aged 34 and a resident of Muzaffarabad, who was leading the operation from the front.

The ISPR praised his bravery, saying: “A brave officer who was leading his troops from the front, fought gallantly and paid the ultimate sacrifice.”

A sanitisation operation is currently underway in the area to ensure the absence of any further threats. The ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating foreign-backed terrorism.

“The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian Sponsored Terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR added.

Major Rabnawaz’s sacrifice adds to the long list of Pakistani soldiers who have laid down their lives to secure the nation from internal and external threats.
