The death of young actress Humaira Asghar, who was found dead in an apartment in Karachi, has evolved into a serious and sensational case.
Investigations by the police, alongside the family’s silence and the details surrounding her last phone call, now raise suspicions of possible murder rather than suicide.
In an interview with Aaj News, Humaira’s sister-in-law, Huma Saheel, revealed that the actress expressed considerable distress during her final call.
“She was very upset; she had requested financial assistance from her mother, but it was denied,” Huma explained.
She emphasised that Humaira rarely opened up about her feelings, yet her tone that day was marked by an unusual sense of helplessness.
Huma revealed that during the months Humaira was missing, neither her father nor brother reached out to the police.
Even after the body was recovered, the family declined to claim it. “I contacted the police myself eight months ago, but I was ignored simply because I am not a blood relative,” Huma explained.
Huma strongly dismissed the idea of suicide, suggesting that it could be a case of murder.
“Humaira loved herself too much to have taken her own life. The question remains: how was the apartment window left open?” she questioned, emphasising that multiple aspects of the case appear suspicious and indicative of a calculated conspiracy.
Local residents and close acquaintances are perplexed by the lack of a police report regarding Humaira’s disappearance and the absence of appeals for help through media or social platforms.
This silence raises concerns about the difficult life the young actress may have endured.
The police have intensified their investigation into the case, with a forensic report pending that will determine whether Humaira’s death was a suicide or if she was forcibly deprived of her life.
