Ishaq Dar arrives in China to attend SCO foreign ministers’ meeting

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Beijing on an official visit to China, the Foreign Office said on Monday.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, Dar was received at the airport by Yu Hong, Director-General for Asian Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil-ur-Rahman Hashmi, and other senior Chinese officials were also present to welcome him.

Dar will lead the Pakistani delegation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Tianjin on Tuesday.

The Foreign Office stated that during his visit, Ishaq Dar is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of various SCO member states and will also participate in a collective meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping alongside other SCO foreign ministers.
