Muhammad Inam Butt elected Pakistan Wrestling Federation secretary

International wrestler Muhammad Inam Butt has been elected as the Secretary of the Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) from 2025 to 2029.

In the same election, Arshad Sattar was chosen as President, Abdul Mubeen Chaudhry was named Chairman, and Muhammad Riaz was appointed Treasurer.

The results were officially announced during a general meeting of the PWF, where all candidates were elected unopposed and with full consensus.

Moreover, the meeting was attended by representatives from the Pakistan Sports Board’s Election Commission along with other federation officials.

Following his election, Inam Butt spoke to the media, reaffirming his dedication to reviving wrestling in Pakistan—particularly by focusing on grassroots development.

“My main goal is to discover and develop talent at the grassroots level. I’ll be directly involved in coaching and mentoring young wrestlers,” he said.

PWF President Arshad Sattar praised Butt’s appointment, highlighting its historic nature.

“For the first time, a world-class athlete like Inam Butt is stepping into a major administrative position. His background as an elite wrestler will provide valuable perspective in advancing the sport,” Sattar noted.

Inam also shared his vision moving forward, revealing a 100-day action plan focused on identifying and training emerging talent across the nation.

“As someone who has lived the athlete’s journey, I understand the hurdles our wrestlers face. I’m confident in what’s needed to raise Pakistan’s wrestling to the global stage,” Butt added.

Inam Butt brings a decorated athletic background to his new role, having won eight gold, three silver, and one bronze medal in prestigious competitions such as the Commonwealth Games, World Beach Championships, World Beach Games, Asian Beach Games, and South Asian Games.
