Intense weather alerts: Rain, humidity forecasted across the country

The weather across various regions of the country has intensified, with rain expected in some areas, humidity in others, and temperatures predicted to reach up to 40 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office has issued forecasts for rain in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rain anticipated in Islamabad and Punjab

The Met Office predicts thunderstorms with rain in Islamabad, while much of Punjab will experience overcast skies. Light to moderate rain is also expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, and Galiyat, potentially bringing some relief from the heat.

Heavy rain and landslide risks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, the weather will be partly cloudy and humid. Rain is forecasted in several districts, including Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Dir, Chitral, Swat, Buner, and others.

The department has warned of possible flooding in streams and landslides in Chitral, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, and other upper districts. Relevant authorities have been advised to remain vigilant.

Yesterday, Peshawar recorded 6 mm of rain, while Malam Jabba received 4 mm, and Patan recorded 1 mm. Today’s temperature in Peshawar could reach 39 degrees Celsius, with Malam Jabba and Kalam registering a low of 15 degrees. Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu may see temperatures rise to 40 degrees Celsius.

Weather outlook for Sindh and Balochistan

In Sindh, extremely hot and humid conditions are expected, although rain is likely in Umerkot, Mithi, Sukkur, and Larkana. Balochistan is also predicted to experience hot and humid weather.

The Met Office has urged citizens to take precautions, avoid unnecessary travel, and remain alert, especially those residing in low-lying areas.
