Federal Govt to transform Frontier Constabulary into nationwide federal force

The federal government has decided to transform the Frontier Constabulary (FC) into a nationwide federal force, expanding its jurisdiction across the entire country, including all four provinces, Islamabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Sources confirmed that an ordinance will be issued to implement the decision following the federal cabinet’s approval of amendments to the Frontier Constabulary Act of 1915.

The newly structured force will be renamed the Federal Constabulary.

Once the ordinance is enacted, a nationwide recruitment drive will be launched, and offices of the new force will be established across Pakistan.

According to sources, the Federal Constabulary will be commanded by officers from the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP).

The reorganisation is part of a broader effort to centralise and strengthen the country’s internal security apparatus.

Officials believe that the creation of the Federal Constabulary will significantly enhance the state’s ability to maintain law and order and respond to internal security challenges more effectively.
