The body of renowned actress Humaira Asghar, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her apartment in Karachi’s Defence area, arrived in Lahore on Friday for burial.

According to the family, Humaira Asghar has been laid to rest at Q-Block graveyard in Model Town. Her funeral prayer was also held at the same location.

Close relatives and family friends attended the funeral at the cemetery, after which the body was laid to rest.

On Thursday, Humaira Asghar’s family officially claimed the body after widespread media coverage, and government officials, including the Sindh Governor who announced that he would take responsibility of the burial as a humanitarian gesture.

Karachi Police also announced a formal investigation into the mysterious and tragic death of former actress and model.
