The Islamabad Traffic Police has published a performance report highlighting a special enforcement campaign that targeted serious traffic law violations over the past week.
During this initiative, 112 cases were registered, resulting in the impounding of 1,119 motorcycles and 412 vehicles.
According to a police spokesperson, strict actions were taken against those who ignored traffic laws while driving, and for the first time, drone technology was utilized to impose fines on 48 drivers for various violations.
The report indicated that fines were imposed for lane violations (845), driving without a license (76), triple riding (11), and 23 underage drivers.
Additionally, fines were issued for driving in the wrong direction (923), riding motorcycles without helmets (1,007), and illegal parking (2,766).
Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider stated that actions will continue indiscriminately during the campaign.
He emphasized that a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted for violations of traffic laws to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
He further mentioned that efforts will continue to maintain traffic discipline through the use of modern technology and effective enforcement.
