A police van was attacked by unidentified assailants in the Wana area of South Waziristan on Thursday, leaving a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) injured and one officer missing.
According to police sources, the van came under fire while patrolling the region.
The DSP sustained bullet injuries during the attack, while one police constable went missing and is feared abducted.
Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached the site and launched a search operation to locate the missing officer and apprehend the attackers.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to secure the area and trace those responsible for the ambush.
