Political tensions have escalated amid reports of a potential power shift in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif convened key meetings with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Awami National Party chief Senator Aimal Wali Khan to discuss the evolving situation.

The meetings included detailed discussions on the province’s overall political situation and the recent incident in the Swat River.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi briefed the Prime Minister on the Swat River incident, after which the Prime Minister directed the relevant authorities to take immediate measures to prevent such occurrences.

Federal ministers Amir Muqam, Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Abdul Rehman Kanju, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, and Special Assistant Talha Burki also attended the meeting.

According to the official statement, there was also an in-depth discussion on the overall political situation in the country.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said, “If the opposition has even a single member more, it is their democratic right to change the government there is no question of any conspiracy in this.”

He further remarked, “There is no need for a conspiracy against Ali Amin Gandapur; his own people are enough.”

On the other hand, Aimal Wali Khan also met the Prime Minister, during which the overall political situation of the country was discussed.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah clarified, “There has been no discussion with Maulana Fazlur Rehman about toppling the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, and no no-confidence motion against the PTI’s provincial government is under consideration.”
