The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), a department under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD), is set to facilitate the export of skilled workers to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to an official source on Tuesday.
The official told APP that the demand for both skilled and unskilled Pakistani workers is steadily increasing, a trend attributed to the effective policies of the current government. He noted that millions of Pakistanis are already employed across various sectors in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, contributing significantly to the national economy through remittances.
“Overseas Pakistanis are the backbone of the country and play a vital role in economic development,” he said.
The official also shared details about the qualifications required for certain technical roles being sought by Saudi employers.
These include highly specialized positions such as a
Shikra System Engineer, who must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics,
Electrical Engineering, or Radar Technology, along with certifications and training in radar systems the GM200 Radar and CONTROL View SHIKRA equipment.
Post-hiring training in France will also be provided.
Candidates must possess expertise in hardware, software, operations, and maintenance, and be proficient in English.
The candidates should have knowledge of French or Arabic will be considered an added advantage. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.
Other roles include RAPID Ranger System Engineer, Shikra System Maintenance Technician, Network Engineer Architect, Systems Installation Manager, Cisco Unified Communications Engineer, Systems Engineer, and Site Supervisor.
Salary packages and other employment conditions will be finalized during interviews.
