India, Israel fail to place Pakistan on FATF grey list: Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan achieved yet another diplomatic victory by foiling a conspiracy by India and Israel to get Pakistan included in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Asif revealed that a meeting of the FATF’s International Cooperation Review Group (ICRG) was recently held, during which it was decided not to place Pakistan back on the grey list.

The minister credited the outcome to strong diplomatic support from allies.

He stated that China took a clear and supportive stance, advocating relief for Pakistan.

Turkey also supported China’s position, while Japan extended full support to Pakistan, particularly in its capacity as co-chair of the Asia-Pacific Group.

“Pakistan has met all necessary requirements of the FATF, and there is no justification for it to remain on any list,” Asif said, calling the decision a major diplomatic victory for the country.

He added that despite “all conspiracies by India and Israel,” efforts to push Pakistan onto the grey list had failed, reaffirming the government’s commitment to maintaining financial transparency and compliance with international standards.
