Rahim Yar Khan police on Saturday successfully recovered five kidnapped individuals during an intelligence-based operation in the Kacha area.
According to the spokesperson for Punjab Police, the operation involved a standoff with armed criminals.
Following a fierce exchange of gunfire,the hostages were safely rescued.
The rescued individuals have been identified as Naeem Soomra,Kamran Sheikh,Irfan Langah,Shahbaz Sheikh and Abdul Sattar.
They were reportedly abducted a few days ago from Sadiqabad and Bhong, the spokesperson confirmed.
District Police Officer (DPO) Rahim Yar Khan,Irfan Ali said that two accomplices of the kidnappers were arrested during the operation.
Punjab Police utilized advanced technology including night vision goggles, long-range weapons and armored vehicles during the raid.
Inspector General(IG) Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar commended the Rahim Yar Khan police for the safe recovery of the five hostages and the arrest of the two facilitators.
