Power outage at Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital halts surgeries

Lahore’s major public hospital, Jinnah Hospital, experienced a power outage lasting over four hours, plunging most departments into darkness and forcing ongoing surgeries to be halted.

According to the hospital administration, the outage was caused by a technical fault, and the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has been informed. Officials say efforts are underway to restore electricity.

The prolonged power failure created severe difficulties for patients and medical staff.

Operation theaters, laboratories, and other critical departments were affected, leading to the postponement of several surgeries.

The administration stated that power was supplied to some essential departments through generators to maintain emergency services to some extent.

However, the overall lack of electricity significantly disrupted patient care.
