Sons fulfill 90-year-old father’s wish by arranging his marriage in Shangla

In a remarkable and touching gesture, four sons organized the wedding of their 90-year-old father, Maulana Saifullah. The rare event has captured widespread attention locally and across social media platforms.

The wedding ceremony was attended by a large number of locals, family members, grandchildren, and friends. The bride, a 55-year-old woman, entered into the marriage with Maulana Saifullah, in Bisham, a town in Shangla district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with a dowry of one tola of gold. The event was done with simple arrangements. It was marked by deep emotional significance and a sense of celebration.

According to local residents, the sons’ initiative to honor their father’s long-standing desire for remarriage was exemplary. Many hailed it as a positive step toward changing societal mindsets about elderly remarriage, which is often seen as unconventional.

“This is a rare display of love, respect, and family values,” said one attendee. “It sends a powerful message about caring for the happiness of our elders.”
