A massive fire broke out at the Excise Department’s warehouse near the Toll Plaza in Peshawar, reducing dozens of seized vehicles to ashes. Rescue 1122 teams responded swiftly, and after hours of effort, the blaze was successfully extinguished.
According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the fire started suddenly and quickly engulfed the entire warehouse. Thick plumes of smoke were visible from a distance, causing panic in the surrounding area.
Four fire vehicles and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene, and the firefighting operation lasted several hours before the flames were brought under control.
While no casualties were reported, the fire caused the complete destruction of vehicles worth millions of rupees. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
Sources in the Excise Department revealed that the warehouse housed vehicles that had been seized in various legal cases and were being held pending court or administrative decisions.
