Former Prime Minister and PTI founding chairman Imran Khan has refused to undergo polygraph, photogrammetric, and voice matching tests, despite a directive from the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court and the presence of a 13-member Lahore police investigation team at Adiala Jail.
According to official sources, Imran Khan conveyed his refusal in a written statement submitted to the investigative team. In the statement, he reportedly expressed concern that the prosecution was attempting to use the tests as a tactic to trap him, and cited the fact that eight cases related to him were currently under hearing in the Lahore High Court. He maintained that undergoing the tests at this stage could affect those proceedings.
DSP Javed Asif, who led the investigation, stated that the team had planned to conduct three key forensic tests, as per the court’s instructions. He said that without the suspect’s cooperation, the investigation could not be completed effectively. DSP Asif was quoted as saying that “only by conducting these tests can we determine the authenticity of the evidence,” and questioned how the investigation could move forward if the suspect refused to participate.
The investigation team, which had arrived in Rawalpindi two days earlier, included senior police officers and forensic specialists. Their objective was to question Imran Khan and conduct the tests in relation to 11 cases registered in Lahore following the May 9 incidents.

Officials confirmed that the forensic experts, along with the investigation officers, visited Adiala Jail but were unable to proceed due to the former prime minister’s non-cooperation. The team has since returned to Lahore without conducting the court-ordered tests.
On May 15, the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court had approved the investigation team’s request to carry out polygraph and photogrammetric tests on Imran Khan as part of the ongoing probe.
