Shortly after India attacked three airbases in Pakistan and launched more drone attacks, Pakistan launched a counter-offensive against India, called Operation Bunyanun Marsoos. India has suffered massive losses since 5pm Saturday with over of its military installations having been destroyed. India’s major losses are a unit of Russian-made S-400 missile defence system — one of the most sophistic in the world – four airbases, and two storage sites of Brahmos missiles.

Pakistan military has taken the name of the operation from from a Quranic verse which means ‘surely Allah loves those who fight in His cause in solid ranks as if they were once a concrete structure.’ The word Bunyanun Marsoos mean a wall made of lead or if they were a concrete structure, said Tariq Chaudhry of Aaj News.

Indian losses

The following Indian losses have been confirmed by Pakistani security sources. Some of the Indian losses were also indirectly confirmed by Indian media.

• Missile defense system: India’s S-400 missile defense system was destroeyed in Bhuj region of Gujrat state. A battery of S-400 includes multiple vehicles and radar and it costs $1.5 billion. India purchased a total of five batteries from Russia.
• Missile storage sites: Pakistan destroyed a Brahmos storage site in Beas. Another Brahmos storage site was destroyed in Nagrota near Jammu.
• Four airbases: Pakistani attacks also hit Indian airbases in Pathankot, Odhampur, Jalandhar and Gurjat.
• Four airfields: Pakistan has also destroyed multiple airfield in India, including Adampur airfield in Punjab, Sarsa airfield in Haryana, and Surat Garh and Naliya airfield in Gujrat.
• Seaport: Pakistani drone cause massive destruction at the Kandla seaport in the Gujrat state.
• Terror camp: An Indian terror camp in Rajauri was also eliminated. The camp, operated by Military Intelligence, was being used for terrorism in Pakistan, said security sources.
• Others: Brigade Headquarters KG Top, Field supply depot Uri, and Artillery Gun Position Derangyari

Pakistani security sources said these military or security installations were for launching attacks against Pakistani civilians including children.

There were unconfirmed local reports of an Indian Rafale being shot down near Sialkot. However, security sources have not confirmed them. Other reports said Pakistan took down a large drown in Sialkot, which borders India.

Pakistani drones fly over Delhi and Gujrat

Pakistani drones were flying over Indian capital New Delhi and Modi’s home state of Gujrat.

Confirmation by Indian sources

Another video published by Indian news agency ANI and taken from a long distance, showed smoke rising from Odhampur airbase.

TV9 confirmed losses at the Sarsa airfield, saying explosions were heard at the airfield. Sarsa is located near Bhatinda airbase in Haryana, it said.

Multiple Indian social media users confirmed Pakistani drones were fyling over New Delhi.

Fateh I Missile

Pakistan used Fateh I missile which has a range of 120km and Pakistani forces recently conducted its training launch.

A footage shared by forces showed a multi-barrel launcher firing Fateh missile in the wee hours of Saturday.

Another footage shows missile being fired after the day break.

Tariq Chaudhry said Pakistan was targeting locations where the missile attacks originated, however, he would not name the places.

Naveed Akbar reported that for the first time, Pakistan was on the offensive after exercising restraint for days.

An unverified video showed massive destruction at what was said to be Adani airport in India’s Gujrat.
