India fires six ballistic missiles on its Sikh population, says Pak military

Pakistan military spokesperson has said that India has fired six ballistic missiles at its Sikh population in the Indian state of Punjab.

In a late-night press conference, Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Lt. General Ahmed Sharif said that India fired five missiles in the Indian city of Amritsar and a sixth missile was fired in Adampur.

“Let me give you a shocking news. Shortly before now, India has fired six ballistic missiles from Adampur. One of the missiles hit Adampur, and the remaining five missiles hit Amritsar in the Indian Punjab. India, under its sinister plans, is hitting Sikh population in the Indian Punjab. Our sympathy is with Sikhs, those minorities that are being subjected to their internal intrigue and atrocities,” said Lt. Gen Sharif.

Naveed Akbar of Aaj News reported that Pakistan had electronic evidence of India firing ballistic missiles at its population.

The military briefing came shortly after Indian media claims about drone and missile attacks in Indian territories. India made similar claims on Thursday after it sent a drone swarm to Pakistan, but Pakistan has refuted, saying it has not yet attacked India.

Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, Ishaq Dar, on Thursday said that Pakistan would never target the population in Sikh-majority Indian Punjab.

Dar spoke after missile parts were found in the Indian Punjab on Thursday morning and some Indian quarters tried to blame Pakistan. At the same press conference, Lt. Gen Sharif displayed radar data to prove that the projectiles were fired from India and one of them fell in Pakistan.
