Volleyball League moved from Pakistan to Uzbekistan due to tensions with India

The Central Asia Volleyball Association (CAVA) has announced the relocation of its Men’s Nations League from Pakistan to Uzbekistan, following concerns from several countries about security amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India.

Originally scheduled to take place in Islamabad from May 29 to June 4, the tournament will now be hosted in Uzbekistan, although the dates remain unchanged.

The decision was made during CAVA’s Annual General Meeting on April 25 in Nepal, where member nations expressed their reluctance to participate in light of the strained geopolitical environment.

A senior official of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation, Ch Mohammad Yaqub confirmed that the shift was necessary due to the security concerns raised by participating countries.
