Pakistan is set to welcome another electric vehicle as MG announces the launch of its latest model, the all-new ES5 EV, a compact SUV revealed at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show.
MG Pakistan aims to expand its electric lineup with the ES5, providing a modern alternative to conventional fuel-powered SUVs.
The MG ES5 is designed to replace the MG ZS EV in global markets, including Europe, the UK, and Australia.
Built on the Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), the same foundation as the MG4 hatchback, the ES5 boasts a longer wheelbase, an updated design, and enhanced technology.
Featuring a grille-less, aerodynamic front profile, the ES5 incorporates cyberster-inspired bumper intakes and slim, split LED headlights.
At the rear, it showcases a full-width LED taillight strip reminiscent of the MG4, emphasizing efficiency and a futuristic aesthetic.
Powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor, the MG ES5 generates 168 horsepower (170 PS) and 250 Nm of torque.
It is equipped with an ultra-slim lithium iron phosphate battery developed by SAIC-CATL, available in three different options.
The MG ES5 will rival other compact electric SUVs like the Kia EV4 and Peugeot E-2008.
With its eye-catching design, spacious interior, and competitive range, it has the potential to become a strong player in Pakistan’s emerging EV market, especially if priced competitively.
