Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is facing severe criticism from Indian social media users after condemning the terrorist attack that occurred in the Pahalgam area of occupied Kashmir on April 22.
Two days later, on April 24, she expressed her sorrow over the incident through her Instagram story, stating, “Violence anywhere in the world is the height of cowardice. My heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the Pahalgam attack.”
However, according to Indian media reports, Mahira Khan removed her condemning post before 24 hours had passed, leading to a wave of trolling on Indian social media, where she was accused of “hypocrisy” and “expediency.”
It is noteworthy that Mahira Khan gained significant popularity in India after working with Shah Rukh Khan in the film “Raees” in 2017. But in light of the recent tensions, calls for a ban on Pakistani artists from Indian entertainment circles and the public have resurfaced.

In this context, another Pakistani actress, Hania Amir, has also come under fire. She too condemned the Pahalgam incident, but Indian social media users have labeled her “sycophantic” by referencing her older posts.
According to reports, Hania Amir’s anticipated Bollywood film “Sardar Ji 3,” in which she was set to star alongside Diljit Dosanjh, is now surrounded by uncertainty. It is likely that the film will not be released on schedule.
The aftermath of the Pahalgam attack appears to have deepened the existing rift between the entertainment industries of both countries.
