Bollywood superstar and “Mr. Perfectionist” Aamir Khan is all set to return to the silver screen with his new film Sitaare Zameen Par, which is slated for a worldwide release on June 20, 2025.
According to Indian media reports, Sitaare Zameen Par is the official Hindi remake of the Spanish film Championes, directed by RS Prasanna.
The film revolves around the story of a basketball coach, played by Aamir Khan, who trains a team of intellectually disabled youth, instilling in them confidence, hope, and the spirit of teamwork.
Interestingly, the film is being seen as an informal spiritual successor to Aamir Khan’s 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par, which powerfully depicted children’s emotional struggles and psychological challenges.

The new film also features a group of children facing various psychological and emotional issues. Actress Genelia D’Souza stars alongside Aamir Khan in a prominent role.
Initial reports had suggested a release date of May 30, 2025, but following the completion of production and post-production phases, the new release date has now been confirmed. Audiences are eagerly awaiting the film, drawn by Aamir Khan’s unique character and its inspiring storyline.
