The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced its schedule for hearings concerning various cases linked to the events of May 9.
According to the timetable issued by the court, hearings for appeals filed by leaders and supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are set to occur next week.
The court will hear Umer Sarfaraz Cheema’s appeal against the rejection of his physical remand on April 14.
Senator Ejaz Chaudhry’s bail application will be evaluated on April 15, the same day the court will also address the appeal regarding the cancellation of bail for former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, which was submitted by the caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa earlier in 2023.
A three-member bench, chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, will preside over these cases.

In addition to these matters, the bench is expected to review appeals for the bail cancellations of numerous other PTI leaders and activists.
Notably, the violent protests that erupted nationwide following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on May 9, 2023, have resulted in several related cases remaining open in the courts.
