Two citizens were abducted in Islamabad on March 29 in a kidnapping-for-ransom case, with shocking revelations that Rawalpindi police officials were part of the criminal operation. One accomplice has been arrested, while others remain at large.

In a disturbing case that raises concerns over public safety, it has emerged that the very individuals entrusted with protecting the public were orchestrating crimes instead. Rawalpindi police personnel Zahid Usman and Afaq, along with accomplices including a woman, allegedly ran a honey trap operation to lure victims before abducting them for ransom.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on March 29 and was formally registered at Sangjani police station. Two civilians were kidnapped and a ransom was demanded by the abductors. The woman involved played a key role in trapping the victims.

Police acted on leads and arrested Shahid Iqbal, one of the group’s accomplices. Authorities confirmed that the search for the remaining members of the gang, including the police officers and other associates, is ongoing.

This case adds to growing concerns regarding criminal activities involving law enforcement officials in the region.
