Sindh education department issues dress and conduct guidelines for teachers

The Sindh Education Department has introduced a code of conduct for school teachers, outlining guidelines on dress, behaviour, and professional ethics, after consultations with all stakeholders.

According to the issued guidelines, teachers must wear attire that reflects professionalism and cultural respect.

Female teachers have been advised to avoid excessive makeup, jewelry, and high heels, opting instead for traditional attire.

Meanwhile, male teachers have been asked to refrain from wearing jeans and T-shirts in schools.

Additionally, teachers have been warned against assigning personal tasks to students or administering corporal punishment.

The guidelines emphasise maintaining professional decorum, urging teachers to interact with school administration, teaching, and non-teaching staff with respect while maintaining a positive and professional tone.

Furthermore, teachers have been directed to uphold professional boundaries with students, ensuring no favouritism or discrimination so that all students receive equal treatment.
