Senior JUI-F leader and Senator Kamran Murtaza has stated that President Asif Ali Zardari’s address to the joint session of Parliament lacked any new insights and was largely traditional.
However, he acknowledged the president’s concerns over the issue of diverting water from the Indus River, saying the government’s plan to extract canals from the river is unjustified.
He added that a resolution will be passed against this move.
Speaking on Aaj TV’s programme “News Insight with Aamir Zia”, Murtaza emphasised that holding free and fair elections would resolve many of Pakistan’s issues and pave the way for economic progress.
