At the IIFA 2025 press conference in Jaipur, Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan were spotted sharing a hug, which ignited a wave of nostalgia among fans. Their interaction gained attention on social media, with many reminiscing about the duo’s past on-screen chemistry.
While speaking to the media on the green carpet of the IIFA Digital Awards, Shahid downplayed the significance of their exchange, stating, “For us, it’s nothing new, we meet frequently, and it’s totally normal for us. If people felt nice about it, that’s great.”
He emphasised that there’s no awkwardness between them.
It was not their first public encounter since their breakup in 2007. Last year at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards, Kareena walked past Shahid without acknowledgment, though he maintained a friendly demeanour.
They were also seen at a press briefing after the trailer launch of Udta Punjab. They did not share the screen space in the movie, but they played key roles.
The pair, who starred in films like Fida (2004), Jab We Met (2007), and Chup Chup Ke (2006), have had their relationship extensively covered by the media.
After their split, Kareena married Saif Ali Khan in 2012 and has two children while Shahid wed Mira Rajput in 2015 and also has two children.
Fans noted the comfortable nature of their recent interaction, with comments online reflecting on their journey from past tensions to a more cordial relationship.
