Former Jamaat-e-Islami senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan’s brother, Shakil Ahmad Khan, was shot dead in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swabi in the wee hours of Sunday, police said.
He was suspected of being killed by his neighbour.
The accused first murdered his father and while Shakil Ahmad Khan was attempting to intervene, he became the target of gunfire, police claimed. They claimed that the suspect was a “drug addict and mentally unstable.”
Ahmad was grieved, stating that his elder brother was “brutally killed” right in front of their home. In a statement, he said that his brother was “extremely dear to him and served as his right hand.” He condemned the killing as an act of “worst brutality.”
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Kalu Khan Police Station in Swabi, and the police investigation was under way.

The KP chief minister extended his condolences to the former JI senator and assured him that the culprit would be apprehended “as soon as possible.” He stated that the killer would be arrested and given a “fitting punishment.”
