Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar has stated that the inflation rate has decreased from 23% to 1.5% in one year, with a continuous decline in the policy rate.
He emphasised the significant role of the Army Chief in the country’s economic recovery.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Atta Tarar said that some people claimed the economy would not stabilise, while certain political parties wrote letters to the IMF against the country.
He credited the army chief for playing a role in economic recovery and highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s announcement of the Ramazan relief package.

Tarar mentioned that March 4 marks one year of the PML-N government.
“We made tough decisions in the national interest. Under PM Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, steps were taken for the country’s betterment, and leaders from various nations visited Pakistan,” he said.
He further revealed that Azerbaijan is ready to invest $2 billion in Pakistan.
The policy rate continues to decline, and the government has prioritised the state over politics. Investor confidence in Pakistan is growing, with IT exports rising by 32%.
Highlighting government efforts, he said inflation is now at its lowest level.
“The inflation rate has dropped from 23% to 1.5% in one year. The stock market has reached historic highs,” he added.
Tarar also announced that Pakistan will host ICC Champions Trophy matches, marking the revival of sports in the country.
He credited the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for its role in economic recovery and boosting investor confidence.
Criticising the PTI government, he stated that Pakistan faced diplomatic isolation under their rule.
“Those who once talked about Pakistan defaulting are now facing chaos themselves. The public is not interested in violent politics, accusations, or slogans,” he remarked.
He concluded by asserting that the benefits of economic improvement are reaching the people.
“Thanks to successful policies, all economic indicators are positive. The prime minister will present the facts to the nation,” he affirmed.
