The Sindh Police has formally requested the Home Department to establish a forensic experts’ board to assist in the investigation of the Sarim case.

According to DIG West Irfan Baloch, forensic expertise is necessary as the investigation and collected evidence do not align with the post-mortem report.

The tragic case of seven-year-old Sarim from North Karachi remains unsolved even after 50 days.

On January 7, Sarim was allegedly kidnapped and murdered, but authorities have yet to determine whether his death was a murder or an accident.

Despite continued investigations, the inquiry team has not been able to reach a conclusive finding.

Following a prolonged investigation with no significant breakthrough, the police have released all detained suspects under the condition that they do not leave the city.

The suspects included Sarim’s close relative Azhar, two security guards, a teacher, and a maintenance worker.

Their DNA samples had been sent to Karachi University’s forensic lab, but so far, the case remains unresolved.

Sarim’s body was discovered on January 18, eleven days after he went missing, inside a water tank in his apartment building.

The case was registered at Bilal Colony Police Station, and five individuals were initially detained for questioning.

However, despite multiple rounds of interrogations, no solid leads have emerged.

Sarim’s disappearance gained widespread attention through social media, leading Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori to visit the grieving family and express solidarity.

The case has sparked public outrage, with demands for justice growing louder.

Now, with forensic experts expected to join the investigation, authorities hope to uncover crucial evidence that could finally solve the mystery surrounding Sarim’s tragic death.
