A police officer and a bank employee, who were abducted from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu, were rescued by the police on Friday.
Police officer Irfan was kidnapped a few days ago in the limits of Thana Miryan. He was rescued in a search operation in the Jani Khel region. The unidentified kidnappers managed to escape from the scene, they said.
The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs3 million for Irfan’s release, as confirmed by Miryan SHO Ismatullah.
A state-owned bank employee Kamran was kidnapped a few days ago while on his way to work.
The abductors left the victim on a link road and fled the scene, sources said. Upon recovery, Kamran was in a “distressed condition” and was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Authorities said that investigating the incident to identify and apprehend the kidnappers responsible for the abduction.
