PPP leader Shehla Raza breaks down in tears remembering APS attack

Pakistan Peoples Party MNA Shehla Raza got emotional while speaking about the Army Public School attack during the Aaj News programme Spotlight with Munizae Jahangir on Monday.

She could not hold back her tears when Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Chief Whip in the National Assembly Tariq Fazal Chaudhry spoke about losing young children. PTI leader Aamir Mughal was another guest on the show.

Pakistan observed the 10th anniversary of the APS attack on December 16. Terrorists killed 147 people, including 132 schoolchildren, in an attack on the Peshawar school.

The tragedy devastated families. The-then government, in coordination with the army, formed the National Action Plan to combat terrorism and maintain peace. But still families of the deceased demanded justice and called for punishing the perpetrators.

When asked, Chaudhry said that he could have come prepared if prior informed about the report of the judicial commission on the attack.

“I will say that the queries and concerns of parents should be heard. They should be given any information they want. I and Shehla Raza know this pain as we have lost young children.”

This is when she could not hold her emotions. PPP lawmaker Raza lost her two children in a tragic accident at Karachi’s Abul Asfahani Road over 15 years ago.

The PML-N leader also lost his son, Hanza Tariq, in an accident last year. Hanza was travelling in a 4x4 vehicle along Islamabad’s 7th Avenue when he met with an accident.

PTI’s Mughal empathised with the two politicians in his response to the APS attack investigation.
