K-Electric appoints Adeeb Ahmad as interim CEO
The board of directors of K-Electric on Friday appointed Adeeb Ahmad as interim chief executive officer with immediate effect, in place of Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi.
In a statement, the company said the decision was taken at a board meeting held on February 13, 2026. The appointment follows an earlier disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on February 6.
Alvi resigned earlier this month, ending an 18-year association with the utility, including nearly eight years as chief executive. He was first appointed CEO in June 2018 and was reappointed in July 2025.
Joining K-Electric in 2008, Alvi previously served as chief financial officer, company secretary, and head of treasury.
Announcing his decision on X, he said it had been an honour to serve an institution central to Karachi’s life and pledged full support for a smooth leadership transition.
