TikToker Nadeem Mubarak and YouTuber Rajab Butt approached the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday, seeking the removal of their names from the travel ban list.

In separate petitions, the social media influencers stated they were not involved in any activity that would justify the imposition of travel restrictions on them, arguing that the bans were unjustified and unlawful.

The petitions urge the court to issue orders for the removal of their names from the travel ban list, stating that individuals travelling abroad should not be subjected to such restrictions without legal grounds.

They filed their petitions through Barrister Raja Qadeer Janjua and Ahad Khokhar, naming the Federation, through the Secretary of the Interior, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Immigration and Passport Control as respondents.

The petitions contend that inclusion of the petitioners’ names in any travel ban list, including the Exit Control List (ECL), Passport Control List (PCL), Provisional National Identification List (PNIL), stop list or blacklist, without fulfilling legal requirements, is unjustified, malicious and a violation of human rights.

They maintain that they are not involved in any activity warranting travel restrictions and have requested the court to order the removal of their names from the travel ban list.
