Pakistan, Libya agree to expand defence, naval cooperation
Pakistan and Libya on Tuesday reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen and diversify bilateral defence and training cooperation, with a focus on maritime security.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad, according to Inter-Services Public Relations.
Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional maritime security environment, and ways to enhance cooperation in defence and military training.
Lieutenant General Haftar praised the Pakistan Navy’s role as a key pillar of regional peace and maritime security.
The two leaders also expressed resolve to broaden the scope of existing defence ties and deepen cooperation in the naval domain.
