The Indian team will travel to Sri Lanka for their planned match against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup as per schedule despite Pakistan’s decision to boycott the match, the Indian cricket board announced on Monday.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) maintained that the move is in line with ICC protocols.

A member of the BCCI told India’s NDTV that the team will stick to the schedule, adhering to all international guidelines.

A BCCI spokesperson added that the Indian team will continue with their scheduled activities, including practice sessions, press conferences, and arrival at the stadium on time.

The Indian team will also await the match referee’s decision on the game’s cancellation in line with the ICC’s established procedures.

The Indian response comes after Pakistan’s announcement on Sunday that Team Pakistan will participate in the T20 World Cup but would not play against India on February 15.

Pakistan took the boycott decision to show solidarity with Bangladesh, which had called for the shifting of matches from India due to security concerns. However, the ICC rejected Bangladesh’s request.
