Self-service boarding card machines installed at major Pakistani airports

Passengers can now complete boarding and immigration in minutes using advanced profiling app

Passengers travelling abroad will now experience faster processing at major Pakistani airports, as self-service boarding card machines have been installed at Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi airports.

The new system is designed to streamline both boarding and immigration procedures, reducing long queues and wait times.

According to airport sources, passengers can obtain their boarding cards automatically upon entering the airport.

Immigration clearance will be handled via an advanced profiling data app, which is linked with the airports’ IBM Integrated Border Management System (IBMS).

Travellers are required to pre-fill their profile data, including visit type and other personal information, into the app before arrival.

All airlines operating at the airports are integrated into the system.

Only after completing their data entry will passengers be allowed to enter the airport lounges.

Immigration officials will process clearance in minutes at the counters, using the app to verify documents and responses to security questions.

The system is expected to prevent travel with bogus documents or fraudulent visas.

Airport authorities highlighted that the new setup will not only expedite the boarding process but also enhance overall security.

The integration of all airlines and the advanced profiling system marks a significant step toward modernising passenger processing at Pakistan’s major international airports.
