Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about the heartfelt moment he proposed to his longtime partner, Georgina Rodríguez, offering fans a glimpse into one of the most personal chapters of his life.

In a recent interview, the 40-year-old football legend revealed that Rodríguez, 31, cared little about the size or value of the ring.

“One thing that I love, she didn’t care about the ring,” Ronaldo told Piers Morgan.

“She just asked me if I was honest, and I said, ‘I want you, and I want to marry you.’”

Ronaldo admitted he became emotional during the proposal.

“I didn’t cry, but I had tears in my eyes,” he recalled, adding that he had chosen the diamond with Rodríguez’s taste in mind.

“She always dreamed of having a beautiful stone. I worked hard and finally found one she would love.”

Despite claiming he’s “not a romantic guy,” the proposal turned out to be spontaneous.

“It was around 1 am. My daughters were asleep. One of my friends handed me the ring, and just then my two kids came in and said, ‘Daddy, you’re going to give the ring to mum!’ That was the sign it was the right time,” Ronaldo shared.

The moment quickly turned magical.

“I hadn’t planned to do it that night, but my daughters said it, my friends were filming, it was perfect,” he said, calling it “a beautiful moment” with “the love of my life.”

Though the couple got engaged in August, sharing a photo of Rodríguez’s dazzling 37-carat diamond ring worth an estimated $5 million, Ronaldo confirmed the wedding won’t happen just yet.

“Not yet,” he said. “We plan to do it after the World Cup with the trophy! She doesn’t like big parties, so I’ll respect that.”
