Pakistan defeat South Africa by four wickets to clinch T20 series 2–1

Babar Azam’s 68 and Shaheen Afridi’s fiery three-wicket spell seal series win for Pakistan in Lahore

Pakistan defeated South Africa by four wickets in the third and final T20 match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday, clinching the three-match series 2–1.

South Africa had set a target of 140 runs after being put in to bat first by Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha, who won the toss and opted to field.

The visitors struggled to build momentum against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack.

Shaheen Shah Afridi led from the front, claiming three key wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and debutant Usman Tariq took two wickets each. Salman Mirza and Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Chasing 140, Pakistan relied on skipper Babar Azam’s fluent 68, anchoring the innings and steering his side to victory with four wickets in hand.

The hosts made two changes for the decisive match — Shaheen Afridi and Usman Tariq replaced Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed.

Usman Tariq received his debut cap from Shaheen before the match, with teammates wishing him success.

South Africa also made three changes to their playing XI. With this win, Pakistan wrapped up the T20 series 2-1, showcasing a strong bowling performance and a composed batting display led by their captain.
