Field Marshal Asim Munir, Jordan King Abdullah vow to expand defence partnership
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II on Monday discussed ways to enhance defence and security cooperation and exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present during the meeting.
Field Marshal Munir conveyed the best wishes of the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan to King Abdullah II and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its brotherly ties with Jordan.
King Abdullah II praised the professionalism and discipline of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their role in promoting regional peace and stability. He also expressed a desire to expand defence and security collaboration between the two countries.
During the visit, the Field Marshal also met Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hnaity, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, at the General Headquarters in Amman.

Earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir also called on Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, at the General Headquarters, Amman.
The Field Marshal was warmly welcomed and presented with a Guard of Honour at his arrival at the General Headquarters.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen their historic and brotherly military ties and discussed new avenues of cooperation in training, counterterrorism, and defence collaboration.
