The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly condemned her arrest on the social media platform X.

“Social media activist Falak Javed Khan has been arrested. We strongly condemn this illegal arrest,” read a post on PTI’s X (formerly Twitter) account.

Falak’s father, Javed Iqbal, filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court for her release.

In his petition, Javed Iqbal urged the court to order her presentation and to provide details of the cases registered against her.

It is noteworthy that last year, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari had approached the Lahore High Court against Falak Javed.

In that petition, it was claimed that Falak Javed had uploaded fake indecent videos of her on social media and had previously been involved in various anti-state activities.

Azma Bukhari had requested the court to place Falak Javed’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL) and to order the FIA to conduct investigations and submit a report.
