Leonardo DiCaprio has described the synopsis of his new action thriller, “One Battle After Another”, as a complex exploration of humanity and societal polarisation. “It’s a lot todo with extremism on both ends”, the “Titanic” star explained.

The film features DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, who alongside his wife Perfidia Beverly Hills, played by singer Tenyana Taylor, embarks on daring humanitarian missions in contemporary America.

DiCaprio emphasises that the film does not impose political beliefs but serves as a satire relevant to today’s world.

The plot takes a dramatic turn when Perfidia disappears shortly after giving birth, prompting Bob to change his identity and raise their child alone. Sixteen years later, when an enemy resurfaces seeking revenge Bob must spring into action to rescue his kidnapped daughter.

Directed and written by Paul Thomas Anderson, known for his acclaimed films like “Licorice Pizza” and “There will be blood”, DiCaprio praised Anderson’s “incredible flexibility” in adapting scenes based on actor suggestions, though he noted that the director maintains a keen sense for discerning genuine ideas.

“One battle after another” is set to hit theaters on Friday and has already garnered a 97% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, receiving high acclaim for Anderson’s direction. The film is distributed by Warner Bros.
